Background Images
Use Your Own Background Image

While our vast selection of over 8000 images spans across many different categories - from sunsets, to marble textures, to real estate photographs - sometimes clients have a very specific photograph or idea in mind to be used for their background image.

In cases where you may want to have your own background image used, while other companies charge for this, First Place Publishing does not. We want your marketing products to be as customized to your area as possible. If this means that we need to do a little extra work to digitize your supplied photograph - so be it.

One way to use your own background image is to send First Place Publishing the actual photograph. For example, a client of ours had a very historic landmark home in her area that she wanted to use to let her target market know she worked in their area. The pictures below are samples of her marketing products designed using a her supplied photograph.
Another client decided that he wanted to use a night time photograph of the Atlanta skyline that he had seen on a postcard. He simply sent us the postcard and his brochure design was created. Listed below is the brochure designed with his postcard background.
Keep in mind that if you are supplying your own image to be used in your marketing products, you will have to have the copyright permission from the owner. In the Carol Fox sample above, she had to get permission from the photographer of the photograph in order for it to be used on her products. Bill Johnston from Atlanta had to get permission from the postcard company in order to use it on his brochure. In both cases, although they had to go one extra step by getting the copyright permission, their goal of using their own backgrounds was achieved at no additional cost. How can you send in your backgrounds? If it is a photograph, a postcard, an image from a magazine or a newspaper, simply send us the image along with the copyright form. If you would like to send in the photograph on disk, we recommend that the image be saved at 300 dpi (dots per inch) and with an image size of 8" x 10" or larger.
