How To Use Our Backgrounds

When visualizing your marketing product, may it be the personal brochure, postcard, or business card design, one of the main visual elements is the background image.

To further explain how a photographic background image can improve the look of a marketing product, take a look at the three sets of graphics below:

Personal Brochure (tri-fold) with full-color background image shown below

Personal Brochure (tri-fold) with a solid color background shown below

Personal Brochure (tri-fold) with no background image shown below

The first set of graphics illustrates a brochure with a full-color background selected. This brochure is visually sharp and is easy to read. The second set of brochure graphics illustrates a brochure with just a solid blue background. While it doesn't look awful, it does not look as professionally designed as the brochure with the background image on top. The bottom set of graphics illustrates a personal brochure that doesn't have any background image at all. This last set is definitely inferior to the full-color background brochure.

As you can see, adding a full-color background image will make the brochure look more professional and visually appealing. A background image gives the brochure it's own visual identity. To keep continuity throughout all of the marketing products, the same background image should be used on the personal brochure, the postcard, and the business card designs.

After First Place Publishing designs your product with your selected background, that full-color image will be supplied to you on CD for future use. For example, if you decide to utilize a web site, you may want to keep the same marketing theme by putting your full-color background image as a header on your web pages.
